Join 1st Carp for the Adventure of a Lifetime!

Joining Scouts Canada offers a unique opportunity to develop valuable life skills, foster a sense of adventure, and build lasting friendships.

So many of our Scouters went through the program as youth, as a testiment to the phenominal skills and leadership youth gain.

Who are you registering?

Having been through the process ourselves, we know how confusing it can be – so we want to help guide you through the process!

Whether you’re registering as a Scouter, a new youth, or renewing an existing one, let us help you.

As a Scouter

Say yes to kids.

Scouting is made possible by thousands of engaged volunteers creating fun, adventure and great memories for Canadian youth.

A new Youth

Start the adventure!

We’re thrilled your youth will be starting their Scouting adventure with us; whatever age, they’re welcome anytime.

Renew my Youth

Continue the adventure.

As a youth-led program, we’re excited that your youth is returning to held lead our program, and further their skills.

Have questions? We may have answers

Although we encourage you to use the FAQ and help guides provided by Scouts Canada, we’re also halpy to try to provide some answers to questions that may related to 1st Carp!

Why should I renew now, for 2025?

Renewing now will secure your spot in 1st Carp for the 2025 Scouting year! Once normal registration opens on September 15th, new members will be able to secure a spot in a section in January.

Wait... I'm not guaranteed that my youth will be able to attend 1st Carp next year?

Until September 7th... yes! After that your youth is only registered until December 31st.

New members will be able to claim non-renewed spots for January 2025 (and start attending meetings in September if we have space).

If enough new members join, we may not have a spot for you in January.

What if I registered after May 15th this year?

Don't worry! Scouts Canada has said that they will reach out to you in August to offer you an extension for the 2025 Scouting year. You don't need to do any renewal steps.

What if I have another sibling who wants to join, or is old enough, now? Or, a friend who wants to sign up their youth?

A sibling who is not currently registered in 1st Carp - or a friend - is considered a new registrant; they will need to wait until September 15th to register.

However, we would also be happy for them to start attending at our first meeting as a trial attendance.

The registration fee is so high... can anything be done?

Scouts Canada offers a program called No One Left Behind; find out more about it here.
