What Gear do I need?

This can sometimes be confusing, as to what you actually need to buy for your youth. Let’s cover what is needed when it comes to Scout Gear, as well as what you’ll need for camping!

What you Don't Need to Buy...

Firstly, let’s cover what we’ll provide you with, so you won’t need to buy from the Scout Shop. We’ve noticed that occasionally parents purchase extra items as they’re listed under the “uniform” category, when they don’t need to.

  • QNecker (Neckerchief) - we'll provide a 1st Carp one when they're invested
  • QWoggle
  • QBeaver tail

What you Might Want to Buy...

There are some items that you might want to buy now, or later on, but are not required. They can be great items to wear for camps/activities, or for their Scouting experience.

  • T-Shirts and Technical Shirts
  • Hats (other than Beaver Bucket Hat)
  • Maps (Beaver, Cub, or Scout)

Other Gear

In addition to the uniform, we recommend additional gear for our meetings and outdoor events. Should you have any questions, please reach out to us!

Headlamp

Perfect for meetings and camps; as an outdoor program we meet in the dark!

Water Bottle

Ensure you have a labelled water bottle… prefilled with water!

Sleeping Bag

With fall and spring outdoor camping, we recommend a bag meant for -3 to -7C, weighing around 3lbs.

Mattress

Recommended for a good sleep, although attend our info sessions for information on seasonal usage!
